US military may stage a coup, warns 3 Generals

As the anniversary of the Capitol Insurrection approaches, three former US generals have warned that the military might carry out a coup after the 2024 presidential elections.
In a recent Washington Post op-ed, the generals – Paul Eaton, Antonio Taguba, and Steven Anderson – “In short: We are chilled to our bones at the thought of a coup succeeding next time”, they wrote in Washington Post op-ed.
On how the military coup can unfold, Paul Eaton said that the real question is whether everyone knows who the legitimately elected president is. If that is not evident, it can infect the rank and file or any level of the United States military, he adds.
Paul voices his concerns while referring to the statement issued by 124 retired generals and admirals challenging the 2020 presidential election. He goes on to suggest that mitigating measures should be put in place for a disputed election in 2024 if any.
Talking about the scale and possibility, he says that the coup has a low possibility but will have a significant impact. Paul also mentions the ‘Transition Integrity Project’, saying that the military plays a lot of war-gaming to figure out what may happen. 6 months prior to the 2020 elections, according to Paul, 4 possible scenarios were played out, and a compromised US military was not one of them. Paul believes that such a situation should be handled in a future war-game held far in advance.
