Significant oil and gas deposits have been discovered in KP
Large oil and gas reserves have been discovered in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Energy Ministry says.
According to details, OGDCL, Pakistan’s largest oil and gas exploration company, discovered large oil and gas reserves in Wali block near Lakki Marwat in KPK.
Energy Ministry believes the discovery to be the largest in the last decade. Wali Block’s reserves are estimated to be equal to or greater than those found in Nashpa Field.
Nashpa’s reserves are equivalent to 95 MMboe(million barrels of oil equivalent). Once the Wali block is ready with at least 9-10 wells, then the country will be able to get 100-150 MMCFD(million cubic feet per day) gas.
OGDCL spokesman Ahmed Hayat Luck, confirmed the development, saying that the OGDCL had discovered large reserves of oil and gas in the Wali block.
