China praises Pakistan’s Ehsaas program

The Chinese side praised Pakistan’s Ehsaas program and reaffirmed its commitment to assisting Pakistan with infrastructure development in a variety of disciplines, including agriculture, education, health, safe drinking water, and vocational training.
Pakistan Prime Minister among 21 other heads of state, on the invitation of President Xi of China, is attending the Beijing Winter Olympics 2022. This was the first meeting between the two leaders since the Prime Minister’s October 2019 visit to China.

The Pakistani side lauded China’s unprecedented achievement of pulling 770 million people out of abject poverty and wished the Chinese Government and people continued success in accomplishing the goals of socialist modernization and national rejuvenation.
Earlier, PM Imran Khan talked to the Chinese business community via an online seminar. The business tycoons pledged the Pakistan premier of massive investment in different sectors including Agriculture, technology, energy, and infrastructure development.
The long-awaited meeting between Pakistan and China leaders has resulted in a framework to enhance trade, investment & industrial cooperation.
The Chinese side lauded the Prime Minister’s announcement of the Pakistan-China Business and Investment Forum, which will boost B2B collaboration between the two nations’ business sectors.
During the meeting, it was decided to charge the CPEC Joint Cooperation Committee (JCC) enhancing cooperation in all sectors, including commerce, infrastructure, industrial development, agricultural modernization, scientific and technology cooperation, and local people’s socio-economic well-being. The two sides decided to create the China-Pakistan health, industrial, trade, green, and digital corridors, citing tight bilateral cooperation in the fields of health, environment, and ICT.
Speed of work on building and operationalizing Gwadar Port, as well as the development of a low-carbon circular industrial zone in Gwadar, will be increased.
The successful convening of the 15th Session of the Pakistan-China Joint Committee on Economic, Trade, Scientific, and Technical Cooperation in December 2021 was observed with pleasure by both parties. They decided to use this key channel to boost bilateral economic cooperation between the two countries.
