A day after criticizing Generals, Ayaz Amir assaulted by unknown men

Ayaz Amir, who works for a local Television channel, was attacked on his way home from his workplace in the provincial capital.
The perpetrators assaulted the senior columnist and snatched his things, including his cell phone.
Unidentified assailants assaulted, slapped, tore his clothes, and stole his phone.
“As soon as we exited the workplace, a car blocked our path, and six persons tortured us,” Ayaz was cited by close acquaintances as saying.
It’s worth noting that Ayaz Amir had strongly criticized the military leadership at a ‘Regime Change Seminar’ held yesterday where he referred to Generals as “property dealers”.
Soon after the incident, SP Civil Lines Raza Safdar Kazmi went to the office of the private TV station Amir works for and asked the senior journalist about the attack.
The police officer told the journalist that the unnamed offenders would be apprehended as soon as possible.
Taking note of the event, Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shehbaz requested a report from the police chief and urged law enforcement to apprehend the perpetrators as soon as possible.
Former Prime Minister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan also denounced the attack against the prominent journalist today in “strongest terms.” “With violence and fabricated FIRs against journalists, opposition leaders, and civilians, Pakistan is falling into the worst type of fascism.” “When the state loses moral authority, it resorts to violence,” he tweeted on his official Twitter account.
